We are a long established society with about 120 members. We offer: - 9 monthly lectures a year from September to June, and visits to places of interest and exhibitions
- At least 2 study days
- A tour; either to Europe or UK
- A New Year buffet lunch with a social get together in January
All lecturers are expert in their subject and accredited by The Arts Society We encourage participation in, and appreciation of, the Arts not just for our members. There are two ways in which we do this: Founded in 1968, we are one of some 360 autonomous societies worldwide, under the umbrella of The Arts Society, https://theartssociety.org. Our aim is to encourage the arts by bringing together people with similar interests to enjoy talks by top-class lecturers in an informal atmosphere. More locally, within The Arts Society we are one of eleven societies forming the Wyvern Area, details of whose Study Days and other activities can be found on https://theartssociety.org/wyvern-area Within the charitable aims of The Arts Society we also seek to reach out into the local community by supporting art education in schools and by encouraging volunteers to take part in heritage conservation. |
